What is Staking and how to Stake.

What is Staking

Staking is the primary value accrual strategy of Lendr. Stakers stake their Lendr on the Lendr app to earn rebase rewards. The rebase rewards come from the proceed from minting, and can vary based on the number of Lendr staked in the protocol and the reward rate set by monetary policy.
Staking is a passive, long-term strategy. The increase in your stake of Lendr translates into a constantly falling cost basis converging on zero. This means even if the market price of Lendr drops below your initial purchase price, given a long enough staking period, the increase in your staked Lendr balance should eventually outpace the fall in price.
When you stake, you lock Lendr and receive an equal amount of sLendr. Your sLendr balance rebases up automatically at the end of every epoch. sLendr is transferable and therefore composable with other DeFi protocols.
When you unstake, you burn sLendr and receive an equal amount of Lendr. Unstaking means the user will forfeit the upcoming rebase reward. Note that the forfeited reward is only applicable to the unstaked amount; the remaining staked Lendr (if any) will continue to receive rebase rewards.

How To Stake

Staking allows you to earn Lendr passively via auto-compounding. By staking your Lendr with the Lendr app, you receive sLendr (staked Lendr) in return at a 1:1 ratio. After that, your sLendr balance will increase automatically on every epoch based on the current APY.

Go to the Stake page on the Lendr app and select the "Stake" tab.
Enter the amount of Lendr that you would like to stake in the input field. If you would like to stake all your Lendr, press the "Max" button and the input field will be populated with all your available Lendr balance.
Click "Approve and stake" and sign the transaction popup from your wallet.
After the "Approve" transaction has been processed successfully, sign the stake transaction from your wallet. Congratz, you have staked your Lendr!
